Galleri Syster is a self organized art space in the north of Sweden. After thirteen years of working together, working with others, working for others we are proud of what we have achieved. We want to celebrate this by inviting some more kick ass artists from the north to exhibit with us in this collaboration with Galleri Hilbertraum. In august 2018 we invited Kuno Ebert, Tobias Sternberg and Nat Tafelmacher-Magnat to do an exhibition at Galleri Syster. We are happy to now come to Berlin to do a second exhibition together.

We are inspired and strengthened by artists working collectively, artists that create their own conditions to be able to work, live and develop as artists. Who at the same time creates opportunities for other artists to do the same. The self-organized, artist-run segment in the art world provides space for a more human perspective. We want to show that the role of the artist does not have to be so restricted, doesn’t have to be stuck in the old idea of the individual genius that creates and suffers in the solitude of the studio until they come out with a masterpiece. With this exchange between Hilbertraum and Syster, we want to support each other and give each other space to work as artists in a broader perspective.
